MELAKA: The Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) is advancing its operational methods by adopting the Bee Rescue Vacuum (BRV) 2025) more widely, replacing conventional burning or insecticide-based techniques.
Director Mohd Zaidi Ma’at said the BRV, engineered by the Ayer Keroh fire team, enables safe extraction and relocation of bees with minimal disturbance.
The vacuum method provides dual benefits — safeguarding communities while contributing to ecological preservation.
The tool is protected under MyIPO registration and is undergoing technical enhancement with UTeM for improved efficiency prior to statewide rollout.
