LG Electronics is poised to take centre stage at CES 2026 with the reveal of its AI Cabin Platform — a revolutionary generative AI system that aims to transform the car interior into an adaptive, perceptive, and emotionally aware environment.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite, the platform merges high-performance automotive computing with next-generation AI models capable of reasoning across language, images and contextual data. This fusion allows LG’s digital cockpit to provide a highly personalized driving experience.
The AI Cabin Platform evaluates data from multiple sensors, including interior-facing cameras that monitor driver fatigue, distraction levels, and emotional state, as well as exterior cameras that map traffic dynamics. Combined with LLM and VLM capabilities, the system anticipates driver needs and intervenes in ways that feel natural and supportive.
Whether it’s warning a distracted driver of a merging vehicle or converting the infotainment display into a cinematic winter-themed interface based on real-world conditions, the platform blends functionality with creativity.
LG’s preview of an AI-defined vehicle (AIDV) positions the company at the forefront of mobility innovation, building upon momentum from its collaboration with Qualcomm showcased last year.
According to Eun Seok-hyun, “Mobility is becoming a living, responsive space. The AI Cabin Platform is foundational to vehicles that will understand drivers on a deeper level.”
