SPLKPM Removal Expected to Improve Teacher Wellbeing and Education Quality

GEORGE TOWN: The removal of the SPLKPM platform is expected to bring long-term benefits to teacher wellbeing and the overall quality of education, according to Penang Education Director Mohamad Dziauddin Mat Saad.

He said the system had placed heavy emphasis on lengthy training records, contributing to growing administrative fatigue among teachers.

“With its abolition, teachers can now devote their energy to teaching, innovation and nurturing students rather than fulfilling excessive reporting requirements,” he said.

The announcement by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek that SPLKPM will be phased out from next year marks a significant policy shift toward trust-based governance in education.

Mohamad Dziauddin expressed confidence that the move would lead to more motivated educators, healthier work environments and improved learning outcomes for students across the country.
