JOHOR BAHRU — Police have detained two Singaporean men after they were involved in two separate fights within a short timeframe, including one that took place inside the Larkin Police Station compound.
Johor Bahru South District Police Chief ACP Raub Selamat said the second fight occurred at 6.15 pm when both men were at the complaint counter to facilitate investigations into an earlier altercation at a nearby shopping mall.
While one suspect was filing a report, the other allegedly approached him and attacked suddenly, leading to a scuffle which was quickly stopped by police personnel.
Both sustained minor injuries and received treatment at Hospital Sultanah Aminah before being placed under arrest.
Investigations revealed that the initial fight started around 5.20 pm following dissatisfaction when a woman, believed to be the wife of one suspect, was splashed by spilled beer.
The suspects tested negative for drugs and have been remanded for two days for investigation under Section 160 of the Penal Code and Section 90 of the Police Act 1967.
