A Budget for Community Upliftment: How MAIWP Plans to Support Families in 2026

With RM1.6 billion earmarked for 2026, MAIWP is positioning itself to better support thousands of families struggling with urban challenges.

The budget places strong emphasis on welfare aid, education and community empowerment, aiming to create long-term change rather than short-term relief.

Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar highlighted that RM1.157 billion will strengthen welfare services such as medical assistance, protection programmes and asnaf development initiatives.

Meanwhile, RM197.22 million allocated for education aims to ensure children from low-income families have access to high-quality learning environments from preschool to university.

The budget also reinforces MAIWP’s commitment to addressing urban poverty through RM73.65 million dedicated to physical development and asset expansion, allowing the institution to generate sustainable benefits for years to come.
