RM2.7 million relief fund prepared by YAPEIM as flood assistance efforts intensify

KUANTAN – The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM) has set aside RM2.7 million to support flood relief initiatives for 2025, with nearly RM500,000 already distributed to victims in need, according to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

During a humanitarian mission in Kuantan, Zulkifli said the assistance includes both cash support and essential aid supplies.

The aid mission, carried out in collaboration with JAKIM, JAWI, YADIM and Yayasan Taqwa, benefitted 300 recipients, who received food assistance, hygiene kits, prayer essentials, blankets and other necessities worth RM118,000.

He added that the MADANI government’s disaster relief mechanisms demonstrate strong inter-agency cooperation, enabling more efficient support delivery while ensuring engagement with victims to understand their needs firsthand.
