KUALA LUMPUR, 8 August 2025 — Malaysia will host the inaugural ASEAN AI Malaysia Summit 2025 (AAIMS2025) on 12–13 August at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.
The high-profile event, held under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, marks a significant milestone in the region’s digital transformation journey.
Organised by the Ministry of Digital with support from the National AI Office, the summit carries the theme “Driving Sustainable & Inclusive AI Development in ASEAN.”
The event is expected to gather over 1,500 delegates from across the region, including ministers, policy leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, youth representatives, and AI experts.
AAIMS2025 reflects Malaysia’s commitment to responsible innovation and is in line with the nation’s MADANI philosophy, which emphasises empathy, sustainability, and justice.
The summit aims to position AI as a tool for community empowerment, economic development, and regional integration.

“This summit is about ensuring that innovation uplifts, empowers, and protects all citizens, especially as AI continues to reshape our societies.” said Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital.
The two-day event will provide a regional platform to discuss AI sovereignty, cross-border data governance, talent development, regulatory frameworks, and digital public infrastructure.
It will also aim to align national AI strategies across ASEAN and foster cross-sector collaboration.
