SEMIFIVE Targets Japan as Strategic Hub for Next-Generation AI Semiconductors

SEOUL: SEMIFIVE is positioning Japan as a strategic hub in its global operations as it ramps up development of high-performance AI semiconductors designed to meet the growing demands of data-intensive computing.

Some of the company’s newly secured Japanese projects will leverage advanced 3D IC-based packaging technologies, enabling higher chip integration, improved data throughput and reduced power consumption — critical factors for modern AI workloads.

“Japan’s semiconductor market is gaining momentum through strong demand, government investment and a coordinated push to build an AI ecosystem,” said SEMIFIVE CEO and co-founder Brandon Cho.

He added that SEMIFIVE aims to work closely with Japanese innovators to advance custom chip design while strengthening the company’s technology leadership in the global AI semiconductor space.
