Umno Finalises Seat Negotiations with Pakatan Harapan for Sabah State Election

KUALA LUMPUR — Umno has concluded seat allocation negotiations with Pakatan Harapan (PH) in preparation for the upcoming Sabah state election, according to its secretary-general, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, NST Online reported.

Speaking at a press conference today following the Umno Supreme Council meeting, Dr Asyraf said that while discussions with PH have been finalised, talks with other political coalitions are still ongoing.

“We are continuously refining seat allocation matters. Negotiations with Pakatan Harapan have been completed, but for other coalitions, discussions are still in progress and will continue soon,” he said.

Currently, in the 73-seat Sabah state assembly, Umno holds 11 seats while PH holds 7.

Earlier, on July 28, PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh confirmed that seat negotiations between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional for the state election had been completed.
