UPKO Denies Claims of Collaboration With BN

KOTA KINABALU: The United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Malaysia has refuted allegations circulating online that the party is forming a political alliance with Barisan Nasional (BN).

In a Facebook statement, UPKO said it takes seriously the defamatory claims made by a social media page that used a photo dated 1 November 2025 to suggest the existence of such cooperation.

The party explained that it had officially withdrawn from Pakatan Harapan (PH) on 10 November and has not engaged in any form of political cooperation with Peninsula-based parties since then.

UPKO urged the parties responsible to issue an open apology, warning that failure to do so may result in legal action under the Defamation Act 1957.
