PETALING JAYA — Proton Holdings Bhd expects the newly introduced Saga MC3 to rise as the leading A-segment vehicle in the ASEAN region next year, driven by exceptionally strong early demand.
Chief executive officer Dr Li Chunrong disclosed that the model surpassed 30,000 bookings within its first week on the market — a signal, he said, of its strong regional appeal.
Li also highlighted Proton’s rapid progress in electric mobility. The e.MAS 7, launched in mid-2024, now ranks as Malaysia’s best-selling EV this year, with 8,239 units sold up to November. Meanwhile, the affordable e.MAS 5 recorded over 10,000 bookings shortly after order books opened.
He reiterated that the e.MAS program forms the core of Proton’s electric-vehicle roadmap and expressed confidence that Proton is on track to become Malaysia’s top EV brand.
The Proton Technology Exhibition, launched today, showcases key engineering milestones, including the GMA global modular platform, Short Blade battery technology, updated PHEV powertrains, and smart connectivity features developed with Aco Tech.
