Sessions Court Permits Abu Sahid to Travel to UK Next Month Despite Ongoing Court Case

KUALA LUMPUR – The Sessions Court has allowed Tan Sri Abu Sahid Mohamed to temporarily regain possession of his passport to travel to the United Kingdom in January to accompany his daughter for her university enrolment.

Judge Suzana Hussin approved the travel period from January 12 to 28, despite earlier objections from the prosecution, who argued that he should not be allowed to leave the country due to multiple ongoing criminal charges.

The defence argued the request was made purely due to family commitments.

Abu Sahid is currently facing five criminal breach of trust charges involving RM458.5 million, 10 charges related to unlawful proceeds worth RM116.45 million, and three money laundering charges totalling RM22.8 million.
